Thrifty Thursday's

There's tons of us who love to save money right? I'm the type of person who loves saving money. There's many things you can do to your dorm room, bedroom, or even apartment to spice things up! My last DIY project was your own picture frame, from the comments I saw that people actually liked this idea. For this post I'm going to go the opposite way and see if you all still like my ideas. Living in a dorm room or even an apartment, things may be tight. Your never sure where to put half of your things and want to save room for other things. This idea may be for the girls and guys, it's all how design it.

I believe that this bin idea can save a lot of room whether you put makeup, pens, or even little things like keys in there. We all know the little items can make up the most clutter. First your going to need to find a bar to hang the bins, cute ribbons to hold them, and of course the bins itself. I looked at Walmart to find prices for all of these.

Ribbon- $3.50 a roll
Sticky Hooks- 7.59 for 7
Bathroom Towel Hanger- $7
3 Bins- $5.00 (at the dollar store)

Total for the whole project is $23.09. There's cheaper routes to if you have a creative mind. I just generally chose what others might.

Picture of the Day

We all have those friends that are considered "best friends forever" or even considered "bros for life." Sadly going away for college or even watching your friends go away makes you miss them. No matter what you always find yourself texting your best friend who is now 2 hours away saying "I miss you, and we need to hangout." I find myself doing that way to much, but I realize that they now can't drop everything and come see me and I can't do that same either. If you guys are seriously best friends you have a ton of pictures together, which means you can make them into this easy DIY picture frame so it makes missing them a little bit easier.

This project is so cheap and simple! Only things you have to supply is pictures of all your awesome friends, clothespins, string, and sticky hooks that wont ruin your dorm room wall. To help you all understand how cheap it is, I looked up all the things you needed and prices at Walmart.

Natural String- $4.99
Clothespins 100 pk- $3.74
Sticky hooks- $7.12

You can get all of these items for under $20.

I personally have these hung up in my room at home, and it's awesome. This project took me about 30 min. Only because I had a ton of pictures to hang up. Even to spice it up a little bit, I added a few clear Christmas lights to them. There's many ways to do this DIY project.
1. I hung my strings first and made sure they were even and I wanted them at the right place.
2. I tied a knot around the sticky hooks to make sure they will stay
3. I started hanging pictures

Comment below and give me suggestions on what DIY project I should do!

DIY Projects

There's many DIY projects that you can do, but not to many people know exactly how to do then. This blog is for the college students who want to get all the use they can out of one thing. This blog is also for the crafty people on a budget. I came across this idea because I'm currently a college student and broke as a joke. I've always been a crafty person but realizing that college is a money sucker made me watch my money way more than I have before. Some people are sitting her thinking "pffftt. DIY projects are dumb and stupid." In all reality, we all know their wrong. If you went up to someone asking "Would you want to get more out of one thing if that meant saving you money?" Pretty sure most answers would be YES! Even though not everyone out there is all for crafts, they are always for saving some money!
Even though I haven't exactly planned out what each of my blogs are going to be my main focus for these DIY projects is going to be little projects that can help in your dorm room. I will always be okay with suggestions. So if you've seen something, but not to how to make it, let me know! Heck even if I post a terrible DIY project, let me know what direction to go to for the next one! DIY project are suppose to ALWAYS be fun and simple, not complicated and boring!
